Pappu Yadav prods Cong to raise riots issue in LS

Last Updated 06 August 2014, 19:46 IST

RJD member Pappu Yadav emerged as the unlikely architect of the protests in the Lok Sabha by the Congress and its allies to press for their demand for a discussion on increasing incidents of communal violence across the country.

It was Yadav, a muscleman-turned Lok Sabha member from Madhepura, who egged on Congress members, to keep up the pressure on the Modi government to discuss the issue.

“Why are you sitting Khargeji?” the RJD member said from his seat in the rear benches.
Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and a few other Congress members had just taken their seats when Speaker Sumitra Mahajan assured to grant them time after the Question Hour to speak on the notice for the Adjournment Motion they had given.

Yadav quickly got into action and walked up to E Ahamed of the Indian Union Muslim League and also urged him to take up the issue of increasing incidents of communal violence aggressively.
