Jaswant Singh's condition remains critical

Last Updated 10 August 2014, 18:48 IST

Former Cabinet minister and BJP rebel leader Jaswant Singh continued to remain on life support systems and under the continuous observation of medical experts in hospital on Sunday.

The 76-year-old leader was admitted to the Army Hospital  on Friday in a critical condition. “Jaswant Singh’s condition is still very critical. He is under the constant observation of neurosurgeons and critical care specialists,” a senior doctor of the hospital told agencies. “He is still in coma and on life support systems,” he added.

Jaswant Singh was brought to the hospital with a head injury, following a fall at his house here in the night.

He was brought to the hospital by his family members after they found him lying on the floor, unconcious. Singh, who has also served as External Affairs and Finance Minister during the previous NDA regime, was expelled from the BJP early this year after he decided to contest Lok Sabha polls from Barmer  as an independent after being denied a party ticket.
