JOIN USBangalore, dhns: National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources (NCPNR) president S R Hiremath on Monday urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to drop Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao from the ministry.
Speaking at a press conference here, Hiremath said Siddaramaiah should drop Dinesh Gundu Rao from the council of ministers for encroaching upon government land whose worth is around Rs 1,300 crore.
“Criminal prosecution should also be initiated against Rao and his family,” he said. Members from NCPNR said that Samaj Parivarthana Samudaya had on July 29 written a letter to Siddaramaiah, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee G Parameshwara, Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao and others seeking the removal of the minister from the ministry.Hiremath also urged the chief minister and other government officials to direct various state agencies to begin a prompt investigation and prosecution of the minister in full glare of public.
