JOIN US A 22-year-old youth was arrested by Jayanagar police for making obscene gestures at a girl student near BDA Complex, Jayanagar IV Block, on Tuesday evening.
The accused Syed Asadullah Hussain alias Asad, a small-time businessman and resident of Jayanagar III Block, teased the girl, who was shopping.
At 7.30 pm, when she was walking by, the accused made obscene gestures, to which she retorted. This led to a verbal spat with Asad proposing to the girl to spend a night with him, police said.
Spotting a policeman, the enraged victim informed him. The policeman took the accused to the police station.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the police arrested and booked him under IPC Section 354 (A) (2) (making physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures, demands sexual favours or shows pornography against the will of the woman.)
The punishment ranges up to three years rigorous imprisonment or fine or both.
Man dies in accident
A man died after he rammed his bike into a tree near Meda Agrahara under Yelahanka Traffic Police limits on Tuesday night.
The victim Haridasan, 35, a resident of Silvepura, was working in a bakery-cum-confectionary shop.
At around 11 pm, he was speeding towards home on his two-wheeler.
While negotiating a turn he rammed the bike into a tree and died due to severe bleeding.
