JOIN USA 23-year-old person was shifted to hospital after he reportedly consumed acid inside a public toilet on Thursday morning.
Ramakrishna, a resident of Devarachikkanahalli, is stated to be out of danger. It is said that Ramakrishna attempted to kill himself by consuming acid as the South Division police allegedly harassed him.
“I visited the hospital, but he was not in a position to give a statement. An inquiry will be conducted by an officer of the rank of IGP about the allegation,” said the inspector C G Hungund.
The K S Layout police took Ramakrishna and Kanakaraj into custody in connection with a case on August 13. Ramakrishna was upset after his family members learnt about it. He went to the public toilet and consumed acid after he was set free, said the sources.
“We did not take anybody into custody. Ramakrishna presumed acid to be drinking water and consumed it,” DCP (South) Lokesh Kumar said. However, there was no complaint registered in connection with the incident.
