Ankisha's ill-health delays narco test

The police probing Genpact senior manager Saurabh Rastogi’s murder that took place at his apartment on June 14 this year, are still clueless whether his wife Ankisha had played a role in the grisly killing.

The police took her to Ahmedabad in Gujarat for a narco-analysis test a couple of weeks ago, but the test could not be conducted as she was medically unfit. “Ankisha was not medically fit to undergo the test and hence the narco-analysis could not be done,” the HSR Layout police inspector Raghavendra S R told Deccan Herald.

The doctors at Ahmedabad suggested the police that the test could be conducted a month later. The police would take her to Ahmedabad in the second week of September, he added.

She is suffering from multiple ailments like depression and thyroid problem since 2012. Conducting a narco-analysis under such conditions, might risk her life as certain medicines given during the test might backfire. Hence, the doctors advised against the test.

The inquiry conducted so far has not revealed anything to prove her role in the murder. The police are convinced about her innocence. It was by chance that she exchanged messages via WhatsApp facility with her former colleague Reshvin Chengappa, who murdered Saurabh. He misled the police by claiming that he had a relationship with Ankisha and she was aware of the murder.

A thorough inquiry revealed Chengappa’s further conspiracies. Chengappa wanted the police to arrest Ankisha and send her to prison so that he will get time to convince her to marry him after they are released. He had thought nobody would marry her after she was released and had decided to be sympathetic towards her to win her over. Hence, he misled the police claiming she was also involved in the murder.
