Two pillion riders die as bike rams median

Two of the three men, all in their early 20s, riding a motorcycle died after the two-wheeler rammed a median near Bhadrappa Layout on Outer Ring Road under Hebbal traffic police station limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased, Govindaraj, 22, a resident of Kamakshipalya and employed in a private company, and Srinivas, 22, a labourer from Bagalagunte, were in the pillion while Harish, 20, another labourer from Bagalagunte, was riding it. Harish was reportedly speeding.

The group was heading home from a party when Harish lost control over the bike and crashed it into the median, killing Govindaraj on the spot. Passersby took Srinivas and Harish to a hospital where Srinivas succumbed to injuries. Harish is being treated and out of danger, the police said.

Police further said that all the three men were drunk. The accident  occurred due to negligent and rash riding. Harish survived as he was wearing a helmet. Police have registered a case and are investigating it.

Labourer commits suicide

A 21-year-old labourer, Prabhakaran, hanged himself at his home in Veeranapalya under the KG Halli police station limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased, a native of Tamil Nadu, was living alone.

On Tuesday evening, his friends went to meet him, knocked on the door but did not get a response. They then peeped through the window only to find Prabhakaran hanging.

It is suspected that Prabhakaran have committed suicide over some personal issue. A case has been registered and the police are investigating the matter.
