When it's too much to handle

When it's too much to handle

Stress is such a common word that these days one can hear it even on the lips of school children. Almost everyone is a victim of stress today. Especially youngsters, as they have to juggle with many things, like college, tuitions, extra-curricular activities, preparing for more than one exam and many Sandhya Baskaran, a second-year PCME student from Mount Carmel College, says, “I do get stressed out a lot especially during exams and during other activities which we take part in college. Moreover, I have taken up science and I am in my second year. So going for tuitions and trying to complete my portions is such a big task.”

There is also the fight to keep up with everybody else around them. Y S Kavya, a final year B Sc student from MES College, says, “There is so much to do in a day. Most of the time I get lost trying to complete my work. In the process of  studying, finishing my practicals, I miss most of my favourite things which I would love to do, like reading novels, going out with friends.” She adds, “When I don’t do things which I don’t like, I end up in stress and don’t know how to deal with it.”

However, there are some people who know the trick to deal with it.  Deeptha Rao, a second year PCMB student from Mount Carmel College, says, “Project deadlines, exams, tuitions, college, preparing for CET,  all these aspects make us tired, but I try my best to not get affected by it. I play some instruments.  I also spend time with my pets. These two are my biggest stress-busters. Meeting up with friends is another way to relax.”
