JOIN USChanges to the BJP Parliamentary Party that saw the removal of veterans Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi bears the imprints of the RSS and is result of a larger understanding between the Sangh and Narendra Modi, according to the Congress party.
A senior Congress leader said the RSS seem to have given Modi a free hand to implement changes to the BJP organisation. But not everyone in the BJP is happy.
“If Modi succeeds, it would be good for the BJP; if not Modi will have to face the music,” the leader said. The view in the AICC is that Modi would end up bruising many egos and the descent would happen sooner than later.
The BJP effected a generational change in its organisation by removing Vajpayee, Advani and Joshi .
Though Advani and Joshi may not protest, their supporters would cause trouble for Modi, while a leader said Kalyan Singh was reluctant to take up his gubernatorial assignment in Rajasthan.
