JOIN USAn unemployed youth, Srinivas, alias Black Seena, 23, was arrested by the Chandra Layout police for blackmailing a 24-year-old homemaker that he would upload her nude photos on the Internet if she failed to pay him money.
A resident of Marenahalli, he had befriended the victim who is working as a helper at a play home.
The victim, in her complaint, said he often used to visit her near the play home and woo her. Falling for his guiles and promise that he would marry her, she developed a physical relationship with him. Srinivas used to visit the victim’s house, when her husband was away at work, taking photographs of their acts.
Later on, he began demanding money and threatened to upload the pictures on the Internet. The frightened victim used to give him money. However, unable to bear the harassment, she approached the police.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested Srinivas. The police are yet to examine his phone to check if he had clicked pictures of the woman.
Flat burgled
Thieves made away with Rs 20 lakh in cash and gold and silver articles worth Rs 5 lakh from a flat in 1st Block, Rajajinagar, under the Subramanyanagar police limits on Monday evening.
According to the police, unidentified men gained access to the flat located on the 11th floor with the help of an access card. They looted the flat after locking up an elderly woman and the maid servant in a room.
The incident came to light when Shripal Jain, auditor in a private company, returned home on Monday evening to find his house ransacked and cash and valuables missing. He noticed that his mother and the maid were not at home. When he checked the room, he found them gagged.
Freeing his mother and the maid, he brought them to the police station to lodge a complaint stating he suspected his car driver Maruthi, who had recently quit, to be behind the theft. The police are on the lookout for Maruthi.
