The Indian men’s volleyball team that won the silver medal in the Asian Championship at Almaty, Kazakhstan, last week was felicitated at the Sports Authority of India in Bangalore on Wednesday.
After a stirring run, India had lost to South Korea 23-25, 21-25, 24-26 in the final.
India had beaten Kazakhstan, Japan and Thailand in the league phase before ousting Iran in the semifinals. India’s G R Vaishnav was named the best blocker and Prabhakar was adjudged the best attacker of the tournament.
