A major mishap has been averted as it was a Sunday. The loss is estimated to be Rs 50,000. The anganwadi was started 20 years ago and there was fear of collapse in the last monsoon. However, the localites had repaired the building. An appeal was made to Zilla Panchayat to repair the building in March. Though ZP had responded positively to the appeal, no work had been started so far. More than 30 kids come to this anganwadi daily.
After one week of summer holiday for the anganwadi kids, anganwadi was supposed to reopen on Monday. Mangalore too received rains on Sunday evening.
