Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, he said the Sena has already begun a month-long awareness campaign across the country in this regard which would continue till January 20. The Sena has named its campaign ‘Beti Bachao Andolan’.

“Students will be the main targets here. The Sena is concentrating on high schools, colleges and hostels for educating the girls against Love Jehad,” he said.

Mutalik released booklets and pamphlets containing write-ups regarding the alleged Love Jehad. He said a total of five lakh such booklets and 20 lakh pamphlets would be printed and distributed among the people. CDs containing the statements of girls regarding Love Jehad will also be circulated, he added.

When asked about the statement of State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief D V Guruprasad who had said that they had no idea about the concept of Love Jehad which was popularised only by media, Mutalik said the CID chief himself had written to him (Mutalik) asking him to furnish all the documents he possessed regarding the Love Jehad.

“Following the instruction of Karnataka High Court, the police department has found out that there are 4,700 missing and kidnapping cases of women in the State. Of them 700 women are in brothel homes as the Sena has learnt,” Mutalik said.

‘Shabarimala allowance’

Mutalik urged that the State government should provide an allowance of Rs 5000 each to all Ayyappa devotees taking part in Shabarimala pilgrimage. “If the Centre and State can spend lakhs of rupees on Haj pilgrimage, why can’t they help the poor Ayyappa devotees?” he asked.
