Sunny scores five as Punjab win

Sunny opened the scoring for Punjab in the very first minute of the match and doubled the lead in the fifth. Rajasthan, however, were successful in keeping their rivals at bay until two minutes before half-time when Seiminlen Doungel gave Punjab 3-0 lead. After the break, Punjab continued the goal glut with Sunny scoring his third and his team’s fourth in the 47th. Sixth minute later, Tarun Teneta scored Punjab’s fifth goal before Gagandeep Singh nailed two goals in quick succession (57th and 63rd). Sunny registered his fourth in the 70th minute while Gagandeep secured his hat-trick seven minutes later. Sunny rounded off the tally in the 84rd minute .

In a Cluster I match, Jharkhand riding on a four-goal effort from P Deepak Prakash posted a convincing 7-0 win over Tripura.

Deepak scored in the 3rd, 13th, 20th and 44th minutes of the match while Yaikhom Randhan Metei (8th), Rajendra Singh (39th) and Mongal Soa (70th) one goal apiece for winners.
