Allahabad HC recommends dismissal of 11 trainee judges

Taking strong exception to the unruly and unethical behaviour of 11 trainee judges at a restaurant reportedly in an inebriated state, the Allahabad High Court has recommended their dismissal from service.

According to the sources here on Wednesday, the high court has sent the recommendation to Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik for his approval.

The trainee judges, while they were undergoing training in the state capital at the Institute of Judicial Training and Research, had allegedly created a ruckus at the restaurant and had also misbehaved with a lady trainee judge.

The alleged incident had occurred on September 11, which was the last day of their induction programme, sources said.

An inquiry committee was later formed by the Allahabad High Court to investigate the matter.

The committee reportedly submitted its report on Monday. The trainee judges were from the 2012 batch.

A complaint had been lodged with the institute’s director in this regard, sources said.
