Addressing a press conference, she said that the programme will be organised jointly by the KKSA in association with Karnataka Janapada Academy. The objective of organising the convention is to preserve the rich traditional folk arts of Kodava tribal communities. The convention will be a platform for all Kodava language speaking tribal communities to unite and to introduce the richness of their language, culture and art to others, Machaiah added.

Publicity Committee President Keshava Kamath said that the convention will be inaugurated by Social Welfare Minister Sudhakara at 11.30 am. A seminar will be held on December 26 between 3 pm and 5 pm, which will be presided over by folklore expert Ambalike Hiriyanna. Group discussions will be held on December 27 beween 10 am and 1.30 pm.

District In-charge Minsiter J Krishna Palemar will be the guest at the valedictory programme to be held at 4 pm, Kamath said adding that a total of 20 tribal troupes will participate in cultural programmes.
