There's something for all

The third edition of the ‘Bangalore Literature Festival’ is taking place on September 26 to 29 at Crowne Plaza, Velankani Tech Park, Electronic City.

The inaugural will see the presence of Vikram Sampath, Shinie Antony and SriKrishna Ramamoorthy.

While ‘Shraddhanjali: Remembering U R Ananthamurthy’ will be held at 11.30 am, at 1.30 pm,   popular author Chetan Bhagat will take the stage and interact with writer Shinie Antony.

The topic of discussion will be ‘From full-wives to half-girlfriend — the women in Chetan Bhagat’s novels’.

Queen of hearts Rani Mukherjee will be in conversation with Bhawana Somaaya at 4.30 pm. Some of the other guests at the three-day event include Shobha De, Girish Karnad and several stalwarts from various walks of life.

This year, the festival has a number of unique initiatives. While ‘Conversations @ BLF’ will have people sharing a part of their bookshelf with someone else, ‘Lit-Mart’ is a forum where aspiring authors will get a chance to make three-minute pitches of their book idea to literary agents, commissioning editors and publishers.

‘Art Display’ will look at passages of text from a curated selection of literary pieces as works of art, giving them the spatial atmosphere that works of art deserve. The timings are 10 am to 8.30 pm.
