Flipkart products go out of stock on the Big Billion Day

Flipkart cut a sorry figure as many of the coveted products went out of stock on Monday, the day it launched its Big Billion Day campaign.

Flipkart had launched the heavily promoted Big Billion Day campaign to kick-start its Diwali sales.  

To lure the customers it had promised to sell various tablets, blenders, external drives and other gadgets at tempting discounts. But as customers logged in at 8 am on Monday, when the sales opened, they found that most heavily-discounted gadgets were out of stock.   

Flipkart's competitors have also been running sales campaigns to kick-start the season. Amazon ran a sale from 4 to 6 of this month, calling it the Mission to Mars weekend.

Snapdeal also ran a campaign on Monday with the tagline: “For others it’s a big day. For us, today is no different."
