A trip down the memory lane

The all-women travelling group ‘Beautiful Journey’ turned one recently and celebrated their anniversary by recalling stories of the trips the travel bugs had journeyed. The day-long get together at The Park saw a huge crowd of women of different age groups, sharing their experiences of their travels.

The opening address for the day was given by Jyothi Nair, the CEO of the group, and soon after, the day of fun began. Women spoke about their adventure trips, food tales, ‘masti’ stories and the new friends they had formed along the way.

The gathering was joyful with ladies recounting stories from Ladakh, to sunny walks in Rajasthan and talking about tales from The Himalayas. Nandini, one of the travellers, reminisced about her trip to the Himalayas and the trekking adventures she had undertaken there while Asha recounted her experience of a midnight trek to ‘suicide point’.

“We will never know the potential that lies within each one of us unless we face our challenges,” she said. Poornima, who was extremely grateful to ‘Beautiful Journey’ for giving her an opportunity to travel to places she had never been to before, recounted her experience in Rajasthan in relation to cuisines, where she said that women savoured the local cuisine, dishes like ‘makke ki roti’ with onions and red chillies, with the locals.
