Nikshep makes it to singles, doubles quarterfinals; Rashmika has a bad day

 The top seed BR Nikshep entered the boys’ under-16 singles quarterfinals of the Fensta National Sub-junior tennis championship in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Karnataka lad defeated Raghav Jaisinghani of Madhya Pradesh 6-4, 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals. 

Nikshep  and  Chinmay Dev, also entered the under-16 doubles quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Arnav Bharadwaj and Kesuraj in the pre-quarterfinals.

In the girls section, Rashmika Rajan of Karnataka lost both her pre-quarterfinal ties in the under-14 and under-16 singles. Sarah Dev of Punjab beat Rashmika 6-2, 6-2 in the under-14 singles.

 Later, Rashmika went down to Akshara Iska of AP 2-6, 2-6 in the under-16 category.  In the under-16 doubles quarterfinals too, Rashmika and her partner, Akanksha, lost to Tamil Nadu pair of Rishika and Avantika 2-6, 6-4, 8-10.
