Home-alone woman ends life

A 50-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Munekolalu under HAL police limits on Thursday night.

Police said the deceased, Sarojamma, was a native of Tamil Nadu and was living with her son Prem Kumar, a software engineer, and her daughter-in-law.

Kumar and his wife were away at his (Kumar’s) in-laws’ house in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, for celebrating Deepavali festival.

The incident came to light when Sarojamma did not answer Kumar’s calls on her cellphone. He informed his landlord, Ganesh to check, who found Sarojamma hanging.
The police have shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered.
