If you have attained 18 years of age, or if you have not enrolled your names in the voter’s list, then here is an opportunity to do so.

Following the directions from the Central Election Commission (CEC), a special drive to revise the eligible voter list will be launched in the district from October 30.

According to Deputy Commissioner C Shikha, the current exercise is being launched to enable those who attain 18 years on January 1, 2015 or before it, and to the general public who have not enrolled their names till now.

The drive will be launched with the announcement of draft electoral rolls, followed by the filing of claims and objections from October 30 to November 25. From November 5 to 14, the names of the eligible voters will be announced and inspected at the meetings of gram sabha and local bodies; followed by receiving claims and objections from booth level agents of the political parties on November 9 and 23; settlement of claims and objections before December 5,  preparing tentative list on December 20; and announcement of the final voters list on January 5, 2015.

The draft electoral rolls will be displayed at the Mysore City Corporation (MCC), its zonal offices, tahsildar’s offices and taluk centres, covering 11 Assembly constituencies in the district.

For inclusion of names in the voter list, application should be submitted in Form-6 along with relevant documents, at the nearby polling booth till November 25. Applications related to corrections, deletion of names and change in address, will also received.
