Keeping pace with change

It’s not long before the start of a new semester. Holidays will soon end and most girls and boys, across City colleges, go in for a wardrobe makeover of sorts during these semester breaks. They go on a reckless, endless buying spree until the latest in fashion is in their kitty.

Academics included but this is the kind of preparation that most youngsters go in for. Wearing new clothes, shoes, bags and accessorising the same with the choicest of jewellery is what is in vogue.

S Goutam who has been studying in PES College has a week to go before his college reopens. “I am waiting to go back to my circle of friends. But before that I have to equip myself with some new textbooks before the start of the next academic session,” he says. Anusha, BMS Women’s College dedicated her vacation to sprucing up her wardrobe.
Time just isn’t enough for shopping. She’s bought herself a pair of new jeans and shoes. And now buying more clothes are high on her agenda. Winter fashion is what she has set her eyes on.

“I bought a new sweater. I have to pick up some more tops, tees and warm blazers which are youthful and stylish. In addition to shopping I have also learnt Tally software which is essential in accounting,” she says.

Chiranth R is waiting to get back with his friends. “I love to be in the company of my friends. I have already bought the books, new shirts and sweaters for the new season”, says Chiranth.

Suraksha, a second year B A student at NMKRV Women College confesses to being a bookworm. Even during her holidays she was regular at the college library. This vacation she has read up Shakespeare, Jane Austin and Bronte Sisters. “As I am a literature student any additional reading will help me understand the subject better. Apart from reading I have bought a lot of accessories for my daily use and have also got my scooty serviced. At the same time, I am a bit nervous that our results will be out in a couple of weeks.”
