Minority institutions seek meeting with CM

Karnataka State Minorities Educational Institutions Managements Federations, in a memorandum to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has sought a meeting to resolve the problems faced by them in connection with implementation of Right to Education Act.

In their letter, the federation has said schools run by its members are facing harassment from officials of Education Department with regard to implementation of language policy and RTE Act.

Stating that despite bringing to the notice of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education as well as communicating to him through letters, there has been no action.

Alleging that education officials are misusing their powers by forcing the institutions to admit students under RTE, even when Apex Court has exempted them from implementation of RTE, the federation has sought chief minister’s intervention.
