Rail rokho on November 20

Rail rokho on November 20

Demanding stoppage for inter city train at Ajjampura Railway Station, rail rokho will be held from November 20, said Gram Panchayat President Krishnappa.

Speaking at a meeting, drinking water, toilet facilities, roof for the platform, rest room, over-bridge to walk to the platforms should be constructed at the railway station. There is a unscientific level crossing on Ajjampura-Hosadurga road. Instead, road over bridge should be constructed to facilitate the movement of vehicles and passengers.
The inter city train should have a stoppage at Ajjampura.

Gram panchayat member A C Chandrappa said “demanding stoppage for a train is a justifiable demand of the residents. If the railways fail to fulfill our demand within November 12, then rail rokho will be organised on November 20. We are ready to go to jail for the sake of the villagers.”

GP member Nataraj said hundreds of villagers from 64 villages, members of various organisations will take part in the rail rokho. The Railways should officially announce the stoppage keeping in mind the history of the railways in the region.
