JOIN USA two-wheeler rider was killed while the pillion rider suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Yelahanka traffic police limits on Tuesday evening.
The victim was identified as Hanumanthappa, 60, a resident of Kenchenahalli. Chikkamuniyappa, 75, is being treated at a private hospital.
According to the police, the accident took place at 6.45 pm near Kenchenahalli Gate when the two were returning home from Yelahanka.
An unidentified rider, who was speeding, collided with Hanumanthappa’s vehicle, head on.
Hanumanthappa, who was riding the bike, was tossed up in the air, fell down and sustained injuries, while Chikkamuniyappa was thrown to the other end of the road.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Hanumanthappa succumbed late in the night, police said. Hanumanthappa was a guard at a private firm.
