CM to launch health app in Bengaluru today

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will launch the ‘Healthizen’ mobile phone app in Bengaluru on Monday.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda is also taking part in the event to launch the app, a first-of-its-kind in the country, Health Minister U T Khader told a press conference here on Sunday.

It is an initiative of the State Health department.

The app, which can be downloaded onto Android phones, can be used to bring to the notice of the Health department any shortcomings in government hospitals, including on the hygiene front, along with a photograph clicked using the phone.

The picture reaches the minister, as also the secretary and other officials, so that action can be taken, Khader said.

The app has a GPS link, making it possible to pinpoint the location from where the complaint has been sent.

The app can be downloaded through Google and Playstore.
