JOIN USHelped by an all-round performance from Tanish R, St John’s High School beat Sri Venkateshwara Educational Trust, Chintamani by 113 runs to emerge champions in the under-16 inter-school tournament (Div III) for the KSCA Cup.
Batting first, St John’s rode Tanish’s patient 83 (111b, 6x4), skipper Deepak Shanker’s 77 (84b, 13x4) and Abhishek S (52) to post a challenging 265/8 in the stipulated 50 overs.
In response, Sri Venkateshwara batsmen were undone by a fine bowling by Tanish (5/41) and were all out for 152 in 30 overs. Abhishek S was also among wickets for the winners claiming three for 44.
