Yeddyurappa denies surveillance on ministers

Last Updated 25 May 2009, 11:48 IST

"It is baseless. No minister is under intelligence surveillance. An incident of taking photograph of Housing Minister S N Krishanaiah Shetty should not be given that importance," Yeddyurappa told reporters here after launching various development works in the city.

He said the issue of reshuffling his year-old ministry was under consideration and he was holding talks with senior leaders. However, he refused to elaborate.

Meanwhile, KPCC president R V Deshpande and party working president D K Shivakumar objected to the "intelligence surveillance" on some ministers and "bugging" of their telephones. While Deshpande demanded an inquiry into it, Shivakumar wanted the Chief Minister to resign owning moral responsibility.

On Saturday last while Krishnaiah Shetty was on a visit to some temples in the city along with a team of reporters, a sleuth from the intelligence wing, who was there, photographed the minister, which he objected to.
