Strays kill 10 sheep

A pack of stray dogs killed 10 head of cattle and left three injured in a shed at Ramasamudra in the town on Thursday night.

The sheep owner, Nanjundaiah, said he had spent all his money and even borrowed some to rear the animals. But with the animals’ death, his hopes of repaying the loans were shattered, he said.

This was the second such incident within a fortnight. Two weeks ago, another pack of strays had killed 12 sheep at Somwarpet.

They complained that the City Municipal Council authorities were not doing anything to check the menace. The dogs were also attacking children and the elderly.
