Going on a fasting spree

Burey Bhi Hum, Bhale Bhi Hum, that is based on a well-to-do Gujarati family will soon show all the ladies observing fast. The young women of the Popat family — Krishna, Hetal and Sonia will be seen performing the vrat of Jaya Parvati Jaagran. A common belief, which is universally known, is that Goddess Parvati had done this vrat to have Lord Shiva as her husband. Since then, it has become a tradition in the Hindu religion, especially in Gujarati families that all the young unmarried girls observe this vrat in order to find a good match.

The five-day-long vrat involves an array of activities. The programme will feature all these activities that include puja, special food and mehendi. The ladies of the house even get pampered by the men and have jaagran at nights. And that’s not all. During the jaagran, the mutual feeling between Jai and Krishna will unfold.

So, don’t miss the special on Tuesday on Star Plus.

Krishna grows up

Yashoda maiyya’s natkhat Kanhaiyya managed to melt every body with his cute little smile and juvenile antics. But time waits for none and even our beloved little Krishna has grown up now. Jai Shri Krishna, the mythological drama on Colors, which is based on Shri Krishna’s life is all set to grow up – literally. The show which had been focusing on Krishna’s life as a toddler will now have an adolescent Kanha making Vrindavan and the gopis dance to his bansuri’s tunes.

The young actor will portray the role of Krishna in his pre-teen and teen years. With the change in actor and in age also comes a change in the storyline of the show.

The show will now focus on the antics of an adolescent Krishna and will include charming stories about gopis and dancing on the head of a snake (Kaalia).

This new phase will also witness the love blossoming between the young lovers — Radha and Krishna. Bathed in the sweet emotion of love, devotees will get a glimpse of Raas Leela - the eternal love story of Lord Krishna and the graceful Radha.

Devotees of the God can watch older Krishna up to his newer antics on Colors, every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm.

Disheartened Divyanka

Talented and hard-working actress Divyanka Tripathi, more popularly known for her role as Vidhya in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan is sad as the well-liked serial is going off-air soon. On being asked if she is aware that the show will be coming to an end soon, she said, “Dulhan might be going off air because we have got a four-day extension and I hope they keep giving us more and more extensions.”

How did she react as soon as she heard the disheartening news? “I know that when anything is going far away from you, you desperately want to tie it down and not let it go. The same is the case with me and the show Dulhan. Before when the story was not going so good, even I wanted the show to go off air. But now when everything is going fine, and the storyline is also good, I don’t want it to go off air,” she replied.
