DHiE group dance contest enthralls audience

The DHiE (Deccan Herald in Education) inter-school group dance competition for Zone-B was held on Saturday at St Joseph’s Boy’s High School.

Thirty-eight schools participated in the competition – 20 from junior group and 18 from senior group.

In the junior group, R N S Vidyaniketan, Vijayanagar, won the first prize. The second prize was bagged by Sree Ayappa Education Centre (State) and the third by Regency Public School.

In the senior category, Delhi Public School, North, emerged winners with National Public School, Yeshwantpur, coming second and Little Angels Public School, Kanakanagar, third.

While R N S Vidyaniketan students performed a Kannada folk dance to bag the winner’s trophy in the junior group, students of Regency Public School enthralled the audience with their folk dance for a Bollywood number.

From revisiting the retro era to putting up a high-octane performance as a tribute to Karnataka, students gave it their best shot.

The second prize winners from senior group who grooved to disco songs of the 80s gave an immensely enjoyable performance.

The students of Little Angels Public School performed freestyle dance representing the rich culture and traditions of Karnataka. The first prize winners from senior group, Delhi Public School, North, performed a folk dance.

The audience marvelled at the ease and perfection with which students put up the entire show. The winners of painting, short-story writing, quiz, spell bee and group dance competitions also received prizes.
