Man, friends gang-rape wife in car

She also filed another case against husband in March

A young woman returning from a mall in east Delhi on Monday was allegedly gang-raped and brutalised by her husband and two others in a moving car.

The accused have been on a run after dumping her by the road in an unconscious state.

Police said they have booked the three men for kidnapping and gang-rape and have launched a search for them.

A police officer said the woman claimed to be 22 years old while her marriage certificate shows her to be 26.

She had a love marriage about a year ago after being neighbours with her husband in east Delhi’s Ram Nagar.

Frequent fights

But they were involved in frequent fights soon after marriage and began living separately in Shahdara within one month of the wedding.

The woman was in the process of seeking divorce from him, said police.
“The woman had also filed a case against her husband and his family in Ghaziabad’s Vijay Vihar in March this year accusing them of kidnapping and attempt to murder,” a police officer told Deccan Herald.

The woman in her statement to police said she was returning after shopping at a mall in Anand Vihar on Monday evening when she was suddenly pulled into a car.
She found her husband and his two friends inside.

The trio then allegedly took turns to rape her in the moving car.
The woman has also alleged that the men inserted candles into her private parts.

Punished for complaining

All the while, her husband kept taunting her that she was being punished for pursuing the police complaints against him and his family, police said, quoting the alleged victim.

She was then dumped at an isolated spot on the road.
“When she regained her senses, she contacted her family members who brought her to Anand Vihar police station,” said the officer.

The woman was sent for a medical examination and treatment at Dr Hedgewar Hospital.

Police said the three accused could not be immediately traced and efforts are on to nab them.
