Box office: 'Ungli', 'Zid', 'Zed Plus' fails to impress moviegoers

November was quite a dull month for Bollywood as movies with big star cast put up a poor show at the box office. Last week's three releases, 'Ungli', 'Zid' and 'Zed Plus' also tanked at the box office.

'Ungli', which was expected to make a dent at the box office with its hard-hitting storyline against corruption, failed to impress moviegoers. The film produced by Dharma Production with Emraan Hashmi, Sanjay Dutt, Kangana Ranaut and others in the star cast, only manged to collect a little over Rs 12 crore in the first weekend.

The film collected 3.60 crores on Friday, 4 crores on Saturday and 5.05 crores on Sunday. It now stands with a total collections of 12.65 crores, said a report on koimoi.com.

Even 'Zid', an erotic thriller, starring debutant Mannara, Priyanka Chopra’s cousin, collected less than Rs 3 crore and the collection of 'Zed Plus' was totally dismal as the film generated a mere total collections of 40 lacs at the domestic box office, according to koimoi.com.

Previous November releases this year like 'Shaukeens', 'Kill Dil' and 'Happy Ending' starring big stars of Bollywood also fell flat at the collection centers.

A lot is riding on Ajay Devgn's action comedy, 'Action Jackson', helmed by choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva, which expected to end sluggish run of Bollywood at the box office as 2014 draws to close. The film will hit the big screen on Dec 5.
