Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has got the Twitter talking about him for all bad reasons.

He was criticised on micro-blogging site for attending a book release function at Goa lit festival on the day when a series of terror attacks rocked the Jammu and Kashmir valley.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, militants launched a string of suicide attacks across Kashmir Valley on Friday, killing 21. The dead included 11 security personnel, eight militants and two civilians.

The newly inducted Defence Minister attending the book release function of senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai's '2014: The Election that Changed India' did not go down well with Twitteratis. The issue became a hot topic of debate on Twitter, when Rajdeep posted a photo of Manohar Parrikar unveiling his book.

The Twitteratis instantly took up the issue and expressed their condemnation mentioning PM Narendra Modi and Manohar Parrikar in their tweets. They contended it was not right on the part of the Union Defence Minister to be at a lit fest on the day when the country was shocked by terror attacks.

One Twitter user posted questioning the difference between Manohar Parrikar and former Home Minister Sushil Kumar who was in the eye of the storm for a similar reason.
