Lack of designer lehnga made a bride so angry that she walked off the wedding venue, leaving the guests as well as the members of her and the groom’s family dumbstruck.

The wedding had to be cancelled as all efforts by the relatives and family members to persuade the bride failed. The bizarre incident occurred in Agra on Monday.
According to reports, everything was going quite well until the ‘jaimala’, a ritual in which the bride and the groom garland each other.

The elder sister of the bride suddenly ran up to her and informed her that the lehnga brought by the groom’s family was ‘old fashioned’.

An infuriated bride asked the groom to tell his parents to immediately arrange a designer lehenga if he wanted the wedding to go ahead.

The groom’s parents expressed their inability to do so at such a short notice.
The angry bride threw away the garland in full view of the guests and announced that she would not marry unless a ‘designer lehnega’ was arranged and later walked away from the venue.

The elders and the family members tried their best to persuade the bride to agree to the marriage but she remained adamant.

The police to were called in to break the deadlock but they also failed to bring the bride back to the wedding venue.

The ‘baraatis’ (wedding guests) finally packed up and went back without the bride.
A few days back, another bride had walked away from a wedding when, during a ritual, the groom’s sister-in-law kissed him.

The woman claimed that it was a kiss of affection, but the bride found it objectionable and called off the marriage.
