JOIN USActor-producer Jai Jagadish on Saturday claimed that a few vested interests conspiring to bring about the political downfall of Housing Minister M H Ambareesh have released a photograph of the Congress leader kissing a girl.
“The girl in the picture is my daughter Vaibhavi. Ambareesh treats her as his daughter. There was a get-together at Ambareesh’s house four months ago and my daughter also attended it. She wanted her photograph to be clicked with Ambareesh. The picture was uploaded by Ambareesh on his Facebook account. A few miscreants have misused it,” Jai Jagadish clarified. “Media gave unwarranted publicity by carrying the photo without proper verification. The photograph was projected in a bad taste. We have traced the people behind it. We have decided to file a defamation suit against them,” he said.
The actor’s wife Vijayalakshmi Singh said there was an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the family. “The photograph has caused enough damage to our family’s reputation. It will have adverse repercussion on my daughter’s career. She is not in a position to go to college. Ambareesh and Vaibhavi are like father and daughter,” she said. Vaibhavi said her father Jai Jagadish himself clicked the picture. “I have been photographed in similar way with my father and uncle Rajendra Singh Babu also,” a weeping Vaibhavi said. The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy chairperson S V Rajendra Singh Babu said Ambareesh’s rivals, who could not face him directly, have indulged in such conspiracies. It is an agenda to ensure Ambareesh’s political downfall, he alleged.
