Raje calls Cong leaders 'unemployed' at her first anniversary as CM

The celebration of the first anniversary of the BJP government in Rajasthan was an opportune moment for Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to counter the allegations levelled by the Opposition Congress in the last one year.

Raje taunted Congress leaders at the public rally, saying they were now unemployed.
They had no work but to seek the attention of people by sitting on dharnas against the good governance of BJP government, she said.

The remark was made as state Congress chief Sachin Pilot held a protest in the walled city area against the BJP government.

“The work so far done by the state and the Union government is just the trailer.  The main picture is yet to come. Since all Congressmen have become unemployed at the Centre and the state, they have no work other than to create disturbance and spoil the show,” she said.

“They ruled for 53 years and never gave  an account of their work to the people. By what authority are they asking for an account of our five months' work,” said Raje.

On the issue of the Barmer refinery and the free medicine scheme, the BJP leaders said that both the projects were very much in place and the state government will take them to the next level.

“They are saying we have closed both the projects but in reality projects like the Barmer refinery were announced in a hush-hush manner before the Assembly elections. The interest of the people and the state was not taken care of. We will renegotiate the terms and conditions with HPCL and I assure the people that the refinery will be installed in Rajasthan,” said Raje.

“They had announced free medicine, we have even included free health insurance with it,” she added.

Raje alleged that the Congress announced all its schemes just before the elections to get votes.

“Due to their bad financial management, we are under a debt of Rs 2 lakh crore.
This means that the per person debt in Rajasthan is Rs 15000 to 20,000. Wait for some time and the difference will be visible on the ground,” she said.

Meanwhile, the BJP had to make a big effort to retain the crowd that came to attend the mega rally.

Most of the women sitting in front of the makeshift platform had left by the time  Raje finished her address.

Party workers and even police were seen requesting the women to stay back and listen to the leaders. Some were convinced but many left.
