JOIN USA mentally-challenged person was allegedly killed by his family at Sollepura village near Maddur in Mandya district on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh, 38. The family members reportedly assaulted him with a cudgel and strangulated him to death. According to neighbours, the deceased was regularly assaulting the residents of the house, demanding a share in the property.
On Sunday evening, Venkatesh attacked his father Chikkaputtegowda, mother Girijamma and brother Shivu. The family members retaliated, tied him up and strangulated him.
A complaint has been lodged in this connection by Rajanna, a relative of the deceased. Chikkaputtegowda, Girijamma and Shivu were taken into custody by the police. A case has been registered at Besagarahalli police station.
