Last Updated 15 December 2014, 20:56 IST

In a bid to create awareness among citizens on traffic safety, a month-long campaign titled 'Surakshaa' was launched here on Monday.

Speaking at the press conference, Aiyappa, chief security officer of Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA), said: “Two pre-paid auto stands will be inaugurated in Electronics City as part of the drive. Other activities include health check-up camps in collaboration with local hospitals for police personnel and wardens of Electronics City.”

Training programs on topics like cyber crime, traffic safety and other security issues will be organised. A disaster management initiative will also be introduced. ‘Forum’, a special platform to encourage individuals to share their experiences related to security and traffic safety will be set up. The City traffic police will also interact with the public on road safety.
The campaign will end on January 15, said Aruna C Newton, president of ELCITA.
