Dog show attracts 126 canines

A total of 126 canines flaunted their strength at the dog show organised by the Kennel Club and Kodagu district Veterinary Association, at the the dog show held at Government Higher Primary School maidan near Gonikoppa on Sunday.  

The dog owners were also enthusiastic to showcase their prowess of their pet. Canines of various sizes were combed and pampered to their best ahead of the contest.

The show was held in memory of Dr Kullachanda P Dechamma. Some of the breeds participated in the show are Siberian Husky, Beagle, Miniature Pinscher, Pomeranian, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Doberman, Dachshund, Boxer, Dalmatian, Lhasa Apso, Great Dane, Pug, St Bernard, Cocker Spaniel Irish Setter, Bull Terrier, Basset Hound and others.

The children were enthralled at the puppies.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Anurag Tewari said that the relationship between humanbeing and dogs date back to time immemorial.
The dog show provided a platform to exhibit different breeds of dogs.

The district administration will support all those people friendly programmes by the department of Animal Husbandry.

Coffee grower Kuppanda Ashok Appanna, Kennel Club President Dr V A Subramani, Department of Animal Husbandry Deputy Director Dr C Nagaraj and others were present.
