Curbs on goods vehicles within City limits

Movement of goods vehicles, carrying more than three tonne load, have been banned within City limits during day.  

An order, passed by City Police Commissioner M N Reddi, has come into force with immediate effect.

The order bans entry of goods vehicles carrying load of more than three tonnes between 6 am and 10 pm.

A single-window committee, headed by Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), comprising traffic DCPs and ACPs, has been constituted to approve the entry of such vehicles under emergencies.

The order also bans movement of all types of goods vehicles carrying load of more than three tonnes within 2 km radius of the Vidhan Soudha.

The movement of following vehicles has been banned during peak hours (between 8 am and 11 pm and 4  pm and 11 pm): vehicles carrying milk, milk products, medicines, oxygen cylinders, biological medical waste, petrol, kerosene, diesel, hot midday meals to school, LPG cylinders, CNG tankers, defence materials, postal materials, ready mix concrete vehicles and construction materials. The following vehicles have been exempted from the order: those carrying water, garbage, human corpses, police and military vehicles.
