Many people thronged the exhibition displaying photographs of the life of former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee, organised ahead of his birthday on Thursday, in the City.

The event was organised at the Rajkumar Glass House in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) head office on Wednesday. Over 100 photographs from the time the senior political leader began his political career to latest ones, are on display.

A collection of photographs taken in the year 1962 is also being displayed. His photographs as a young leader way back in 1960s with the members of the then Bharatiya Jana Sangh showcases how Vajpayee began his political journey.

His excellent oratory skills coupled with the ability to capture people’s attention during his speeches have all been described under each of the photographs. Extracts of the poems that he has composed and the poetic language that he used during his speeches and while campaigning have also been put up.

Vajpayee’s achievements as the prime minister including the success of Pradhan Mantri’s Gramin Sadak Yojana (scheme) and the new heights to which  the country rose during his leadership have been pictorially depicted. “Vajpayee was the one to add Jai Vigyan along with Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan. This shows his interest towards science and technology,” one of the photo captions read.
