Encroached land reclaimed

The Bengaluru Urban district authorities on Saturday reclaimed 60 acres of government land worth Rs 162.72 crore across the five taluks under its jurisdiction.

While one acre of Gomala land was recovered in Gangondalahalli, Dasanapura hobli of Bengaluru North taluk, 33 acres of government land, including seven acres and 27 guntas of a lake was recovered in Huvinaya­kanahalli and Maralukunte villages, part of North Additional taluk.

In Bengaluru South, about 12 acres and 20 guntas of government land was recovered in Chikkaluru Rampura village, and Kengeri village. At Kengeri, Indo Medical Company, a private firm, had allegedly encroached upon one acre and 33 guntas of government land. The estimated value of the recovered property is worth Rs 25 crore.

In Bengaluru East Taluk, about 82 acres of government land worth Rs 105 crore was recovered in Kadusonnappanahalli, Thirumenahalli, Hadaguru and Doddanekkundi. The encroached lands include a burial ground and a lake. Similar action was taken in Anekal taluk, where close to four acres of land was recovered.
