Music, fun, debate add verve to alumni meet

A One of the most reputed institutes of our country – IIT-Delhi, witnessed a memorable Alumni meet organised in association with IIT-Delhi Alumni Association. ‘Envision the Future Together’ was the theme of the meet was aimed at building a strong Alumni - Alma Mater bond and to explore ways to give back to the institute.

The evening was a mixture of serious discussions and fun activities, which were initiated in 2013. Serious issues regarding the shortage of faculty and quality research was discussed thoroughly to increase the efficiency of the institute. A target was set to make IIT one of the top 50 institutes around the world.

A talk to initiate a platform to promote cultural entrepreneurship and innovation among students in the institutes as well as the alumni, as well the official launch of Program Accelerated Collaboration were a part of the event.

The alumni day charmed the gathering with enthralling performance of the well known Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali who made the audience dance to the magnificent tunes of his evergreen songs, Dildara, Phir Le Aya Dil, Mora piya mo sey, Mitwa and many more. The presence of the classical singer imbued the evening with a spirit of liveliness
and positivity. 

On his part the Pakistani artiste expressed his pleasure at being at IIT Delhi Alumni Day and performing in front of such enthusiastic crowd. He performed along with his talented band making the evening truly spectacular.

Addressing the guests, IIT- Delhi Alumni Association president, Ashok Kumar said, “I am glad to announce the success of ‘Alumni Day 2014’. We aimed to ingrain the Entrepreneurial DNA in our students  and activated it with help of IIT Delhi alumni. The sessions focused on empowering industry partnerships on specific technology areas and how the alumni can collaborate with IIT-Delhi to make meaningful innovations to create an impact on the society. We express our gratitude to Shafqat Amanat Ali for creating such a mellifluous environment with his
soothing music.”
