Drunk railway cop molests woman

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a railway police personnel in Chandni Chowk area on Tuesday.

The woman approached policemen patrolling in the area and complained about the suspect, after which he was arrested.

Police said he was found to be in an inebriated condition.
The woman, a resident of north-west Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, was on a visit to the Sis Ganj gurdwara  with her husband and in-laws.

As they headed towards the market after emerging from the gurdwara, 45-year-old Kuldeep allegedly began misbehaving with her.

The woman told police he even touched her inappropriately in the market.
The victim’s husband tried to stop him, but he was allegedly roughed up and abused.

When the woman threatened to report him to police, Kuldeep allegedly threatened that he belonged to the Railway Police Force and no action would be taken against him.
The woman called the police control room number.

A couple of policemen passing by happened to hear the commotion and arrived to help her and nab the suspect.

Another police team too reached the scene and took the accused and the victim to the police station.

“Kuldeep was heavily drunk. He was not on duty at the time of the alleged offence,” a senior police officer told Deccan Herald.

The woman’s statement was taken and the accused booked and sent behind bars, said police.

Hailing from Rohtak in Haryana, Kuldeep is a constable with the Railway Police Force.
He was deployed at the Old Delhi railway station.
