Artist Ramesh Rao feted

Speaking after performing the felicitation ceremony to Ramesh Rao Shri Janardhan Mahakali Temple Dharmadarshi N Vijaya Ballal opined that the government ought to encourage art at district level by organising art associated programmes. Most of the art programmes are held in the State capital. Udupi is home of many cultural and art talents and varieties of cultural activities take place every now and then, he said.

Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Rao said that the felicitation has made him accountable for the increased responsibilities towards imparting art education and striving hard at promulgating art in a privileged arena.

Demonstrations of the paintings by Bangalore based artists K N Ramachandran, K G Lingadevaru and V J John artist from Kerala were held on the occasion. Dr Kiran Acharya displayed a slide show “images of the world”. A slide show on life time works of Ramesh Rao was also organised.

Renowned writer Ishwarayya presided. Koti Prasad Alva from Prasad Art Gallery, Mangalore was present.
