'Reservation policy should become inclusive'

BJP national SC wing president Sanjay Paswan on Saturday said the reservation policy should become more inclusive as a handful of people have monopolised it over the years.

Speaking after inaugurating a round table discussion on “Creamy Layer Reservation and Social Justice,” he said that the concept of social justice had become outdated. Justice should be done by making the reservation policy more inclusive. The needy and the oppressed should get the benefit meant for them. Currently, those who are in the creamy layer have been enjoying the benefits, he added.

“Three generations have taken the benefits of reservation in education, employment and politics in the last six decades. The benefits need not be extended to the fourth generation. Instead, other needy people should get them. A number of dalit families, including mine, have come up in society by availing the benefits. It is not proper for these families to continue taking the benefits,” he stated.

Earlier, All India Dalit Action Committee national president, C N Ramu, said that  many leaders are continuing to avail the benefits of reservation despite already reaching high positions in politics. He said that that his family had not been taking the benefits of reservation policy.
