Dog show draws crowds at Hoysala Utsav

Last Updated 11 January 2015, 17:20 IST

The Dog Show, organised as part of the ongoing Hoysala Utsav that concluded on Sunday, was a crowd-puller with hundreds of people thronging the District Stadium.

Even District in-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, along with district level officials, sat through the show without caring much about the scorching sun.

Over 200 dog owners paraded their pets of various breeds — in all sizes and colours. However, the participants said, the show should have been organised in a proper way.

They complained that the venue had not been announced and they had to scout for the place when they arrived at the District Stadium premises.

“Some of the breeds are not used to tropical climate, but, there was only one shamiana and it was inadequate to accommodate all the dogs. At least next time, the organisers should do it in a better way,” they said. All participating dogs were administered anti-rabies vaccination.
