More than a hundred youths ready to marry Hindu girls from Pakistan

Over 100 youths from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand have submitted their bio-data at a camp organised at Miragpur village in the Saharanpur district of UP, about 500 km from here, expressing readiness to marry Hindu girls living in Pakistan.

The camps, organised at the Gurjar-dominated village by the “Hindu Bahu-Beti Bachao Samiti” on Thursday, reportedly saw as many as 135 youths coming forward to marry the girls.

One of the organisers said the bio-data would be sent to the committee formed in Pakistan for solemnising the marriages. “There is a committee for this purpose in Pakistan. It will go through the bio-data and then select the matches,” said Manmindra Kumar.

“The committee in India will take up the issue of granting of visas to Hindu girls from Pakistan,” he added. “We hope the government considers the visa request sympathetically.”

Kumar said the camp's objective was to “save” the Hindu girls in Pakistan from exploitation and conversion. "There have been several reports of exploitation of Hindu girls in Pakistan.

They are reportedly being forced to convert,” he said. Kumar said Hindus living in Pakistan wanted their daughters to get married in India, so they could lead a peaceful and happy life.
He said the people of the area had assured all possible help to Hindu families who choose to leave Pakistan and settle there.

Kumar said the residents of the neighbouring Chandana Koli village have offered to give their land to such families. “We will therefore prefer the youths from these two villages—Miragpur and Chandana Koli—to marry Hindu girls from Pakistan,” he added.
